Marta attended Oregon State University and majored in horticulture with an emphasis on blueberry breeding. She was fortunate enough to have studied with Dr. Robert Tichnor, who was responsible for the creation of the university's fabulous experimental farm located in Aurora, Oregon.
As both a chef and a culinary journalist, Marta knows how to prepare food as well as write about it. Her family has been in the seafood business in Alaska for over 25 years.
