Thomas is an engineer who received Bs and Ms in biomedical engineering at Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy and a PhD in materials engineering at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He spent the last five years conducting research at the Houston Methodist Research Institute developing implantable drug delivery systems. Recently he left academia to move in the industry working for a pharmaceutical consulting firm.
