After receiving her Masters from Columbia University, Laura spent over five years in China studying Chinese business and marketing and working as a professional translator. She has served as head translator for grant-funded research papers on marketing, literature, and environmental science, including multiple articles published in American journals. She has also done extensive translation, editing and and voiceover work for the informational and marketing materials of the Gansu Province Railway Bureau.
